Spring is here and summer is on the way which means time away from school and work for vacations and holiday trips. There are a few important tips to add to your check list before you leave your home in order to help keep it secure while your away.
- Have the post office hold your mail when going out of town. Don’t forget the news paper.
- Check your windows before you leave, making sure they are all locked.
- Store ladders inside and take measures to make it look like someone is home.
- Don’t leave keys outside of home in hide a key boxes.
- Make a ledger of high valued items with their serial numbers or other identification.
- Turn water main off and put lights on timers when out of town.
- DO NOT update Facebook profile while on vacation.
- If you have a security system don’t forget to turn it on
- Find a family friend who can check in on your home while your away.
